Child Safety

Scouts Australia is an organisation for the youth of Australia. Our goal is to be a leading child safe organisation - child safety is our highest priority, and we have zero tolerance for abuse of any kind.

We have begun implementing Scouts' new National Child Protection Policy. This new national policy covers several very important areas of child protection, including:

  • strategies for preventing abuse;
  • dealing with reports of abuse;
  • training of all Scouting adults with regards to child protection; and
  • ongoing education of adult leaders, youth members and their parents.

This new policy recognises the improvements that we have made over the past few years, and seeks to create one national policy system. This approach was recognised by the Royal Commission as the right path for a modern organisation, focused on child safety.
