Welcome to the first email edition of Moot News! This bi-monthly email will keep you up to date with all the latest news about the 18th Australian Rover Moot – OZ Moot.
What is OZ Moot?
OZ Moot is the 18th Australian Rover Moot. It is a thirteen day camp open to all Rovers (and equivalent sections) around Australia and the world. At OZ Moot you will get to participate in a 5 day expedition and different on and offsite activities showcasing the many feature and sites South Australia has to offer.
OZ Moot will be held at the Woodhouse Scout Activity Centre in the Adelaide Hills. This site is just a short drive up the freeway and only 45 minutes from the Adelaide Airport. OZ Moot runs from the 30th December 2010 to 11th January 2011.
Who can go to OZ Moot?
To attend as a participant to OZ Moot you must be between 18 and 26 at the start of the moot and be a registered rover in your State or Territory (or your national scout branch if you are overseas). All Rover participants get to go on an expedition and enjoy on and offsite activities.
If you are older than this you can still come along as a Staff member and have heaps of fun! All staff get to go on an expedition and will get to join in on the fun when they are not rostered on to help out.

How much will the moot cost?
Prices for OZ Moot have now been set. Please remember that this Moot Fee does not cover things like your expedition, transport to and from Adelaide, South Australia and any other fees your contingent sets.
Rover: $750 AUD
Staff: $550 AUD

My Moot - The Application Process
Applications for OZ Moot are now open! To apply to attend OZ Moot you simply need to log on to www.ozmoot.com and click on ‘my moot’. Or follow the link here OZ Moot 2011 - South Australia - My Moot.
The application process is a simple – just create a username and password and away you go! My Moot gives you the opportunity to save your application and return to it later, plus change your preferences for expeditions. Your application is automatically updated to the Moot database and there is no need to print off the form and send it in (we will ask for your autograph when you get to the moot).
Our website – ozmoot.com is the central place for you to get information and to complete your application. This site is regularly updated so make sure you spend some time every now and then to check out what’s new! Some features of the website are:

Activities – General Overview
The OZ Moot committee is working hard to make sure your moot experience is jam-packed with exciting activities for you to participate in. The moot site is close to a number of different locations and activities for Rovers to explore and enjoy, with many being only a short trip from the moot site.
During OZ Moot you will go on a five day expedition. Choices include: Gourmet Tours, Tall Ship Sailing, Scuba Diving, Hiking, Beach Bum, South East Adventure Tour and an Extreme Tour just to name a few. Expeditions will range in price from $250 to about $650. All Expeditions will be allocated based on the preferences you have selected. Once back from expeditions, Rovers will be given the opportunity to choose different on and off site activities. Offsite examples are: kayaking with the Port River dolphins, Adelaide Hills Gourmet Tour, sun’n’surf, rock climbing, wildlife experience, snorkelling, cycling and horse riding.
There will be loads to do each night at the arena – live music, DJs, acts, plus a well-stocked bar so you can dance and party each night away with your new friends!
